It didn’t take long once the weather stayed consistently above 60 degrees to get our first sounds of Summer. On Friday, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen released “I Had Some Help,” one of the most highly anticipated collabs in sometime.

Before you rake me over the coals, I get it.

Post Malone isn’t your jam.

Morgan Wallen isn’t real country.

Both can be true. Ladies and gentlemen, just enjoy the ride.

Two of music’s biggest stars came together to create one of the most relatable breakup songs ever and it’s taking the pop-country world by storm already.

The song opens with Post pretty much agreeing with everything his scorned lover dislikes about him; however, there’s just one more thing: he’s not the only one at fault. We’ve all been through breakups so sit back and let these lyrics from the chorus bring back the nostalgia of, “hey, it wasn’t just my fault.”

“I had some help / It ain’t like I can make this kinda mess all by myself / Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle off the shelf / Been deep in every weekend if you couldn’t tell / They say, Teamwork makes the dream work / Hell, I had some help.”

It always takes two to tango.

After the chorus, Wallen comes in and doubles down on the fact that the blame has to be shared; it’s not singular. In the second verse, we’ll find one my favorite lines of the whole song:

“I ain’t an angel, you ain’t heaven-sent.”

It’s weird to describe this as a feel-good breakup song, but it really is. It’s catchy and it’s not mopey. This is an ultimate roll-the-windows-down-and-turn-it-to-eleven jam. It’s going to be played everywhere this Summer so you best get used to hearing it!

I’ll leave you with this: It takes two to break a heart in two.

Make it a great day, everyone!
