Despite requesting a trade earlier this offseason, Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson attended the Bengals offseason workouts on Monday.
Head Coach Zac Taylor was adamant that the team had no intention on trading Trey and that they expected him to be playing for the Bengals in 2024.
Hendrickson made it clear to the media that he wants to be in Cincinnati.
“My mindset is to win a Super Bowl and I think we’ve got the quarterback and the pieces to do it,” Hendrickson said. “I want to be here a long time. I want to win football games and I want to bring a Super Bowl to Cincinnati.”
Hendrickson has been a star since signing with the Bengals in 2021. Hendrickson has racked up 39.5 sacks during his time with the Bengals, which puts him amongst the best pass rushers in the league during that time period.
Hendrickson signed a one-year contract extension in 2023, which ties him to the team until 2025.
Hopefully the Bengals can work out a deal to keep their best pass rusher in Cincinnati for years to come.
