According to NFL insider, Adam Schefter, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were not present for the start of voluntary OTA’s.

Bengals fans probably expected this from Tee Higgins, but I am sure some may be worried about Ja’Marr Chase not being there, especially since he still has two years remaining on his rookie deal.

Both wide receivers are wanting big extensions. I’ve said in the past how I doubt the Bengals will get a deal done with Tee Higgins. There is nothing to worry about with Ja’Marr Chase though. He will get his big extension once Justin Jefferson signs his new deal, wherever and whenever that may be. Justin Jefferson will reset the wide receiver market and then Ja’Marr Chase’s deal will beat Jefferson’s deal.

We are still in the voluntary part of OTA’s and I fully expect Ja’Marr Chase to be there when it is mandatory. Tee Higgins is a different story. I wouldn’t be surprised if he sits mandatory practice out as well and only shows up when the season starts.

Only time will tell with Tee Higgins, but don’t read too much into any of this with Ja’Marr Chase. UNO will be back sooner rather than later.
