The Cincinnati Bengals announced the latest additions to their Ring of Honor today via their social media accounts. Tim Krumrie and Corey Dillon are this year’s inductees. They will join Ken Anderson, Willie Anderson, Paul Brown, Isaac Curtis, Boomer Esiason, Chad Johnson, Anthony Muñoz, and Ken Riley in the Bengals Ring of Honor.

Tim Krumrie was a 10th-round pick out of Wisconsin in 1983. He played his entire 12 year career in Cincinnati. During that time period Krumrie played in 188 regular-season games for the Bengals, which is the most by a lineman (either offensive or defensive) in franchise history. Krumrie was a two-time Pro Bowler and in 1988 was voted a first-team All-Pro.

Krumrie had this to say in response to his Ring of Honor admission:

“I’d like to thank the Cincinnati Bengals fans for their votes and for recognizing my play on the field and the effort I put into every game,” said Krumrie. “I’m proud to have my name alongside my 1988 teammates who helped make my dream of playing in a Super Bowl come true, as well as the other deserving Ring of Honor members. I’d especially like to thank Mike Brown for giving this farm boy from Wisconsin a chance to succeed in the NFL. This is an honor beyond anything I could imagine.”

Corey Dillon was selected by the Bengals in the 2nd-round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington. He would go on to play for 10 seasons in the NFL, seven of those with the Bengals. During his seven seasons with the team, Dillon put together one of the best careers by a running back in franchise history. He is the all-time leader in rushing yards (8061), rushing attempts (1865), and 100 yard rushing games (28). He owns the three greatest rushing performances in franchise history and he was also a three-time Pro Bowler while with the Bengals.

Corey Dillon had this to say in regards to the Ring of Honor announcement:

“When I first heard the news from Mike Brown, it brought more joy to that day instantly,” said Dillon. “We had a great conversation. It means a lot. It’s my legacy. I’m happy and fortunate that this is happening at this time. I’m ecstatic about it. I have to thank the fans for the love and support. It’s been an awesome year getting to know everybody. I can’t thank them enough.”

Both of these guys are Bengals legends and very deserving in having their names forever cemented in franchise history. Congratulations to both Tim Krumrie and Corey Dillon.
